Job Summary

To deliver leading-edge technical consultancy in Power Systems Analysis and Electrical Engineering and Design. The base location will be at our office in Teesside and is expected to involve national and some international travel supporting customers in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Manufacturing and Energy sectors. The role may require the occasional plant survey at both onshore and offshore facilities, within the UK and possibly overseas

Key Responsibilities

This is a technical role in an established engineering design and consultancy business. The main activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Take ownership and deliver a range of in-depth electrical design and projects.
  • Perform a wide variety of electrical studies such as power system analysis, earthing modelling & design, arc flash, and grid connection and compliance studies.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports and where necessary, present findings to clients.
  • Project management from start to finish, including planning, supervising the engineering team, and ensuring project deliverables are met.
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure strong client and supplier relationships.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the company.
  • Mentor EPS’s graduate engineers, sharing both technical knowledge and experience.

Experience & Qualifications

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar) with a minimum grade of 2:1
  • 5+ Years experience in an electrical engineering capacity, working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience in power engineering and design of both high and low-voltage systems with a proven ability to design electrical systems and demonstrate rationale behind proposals.
  • Proficient in using ETAP, DIgSILENT, CDEGs, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proven track record of technical leadership on EPC-type capital and/ or revenue projects, including cost and budget control.

Essential Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant UK, European, and International standards, legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Thorough knowledge of and compliance with EPS’s quality and business management procedures.
  • Commitment to continued professional development per the requirements of the IET.
