A Day in the Life of an EPS Engineer

As a part of the EPS team, your day-to-day will primarily be office-based, collaborating with our skilled teams of engineers and power system consultants across diverse and challenging projects. You will also have exciting opportunities to travel for site surveys and testing, allowing you to develop hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of our clients’ electrical assets.

We offer a dynamic and rewarding work environment, where you’ll work across several industry sectors and critical infrastructure across the UK, such as:

  • Developing conceptual designs for the next generation of offshore wind farms up to 1.5 GW, investigating subsea, floating or fixed offshore substation options.
  • Designing new onshore transmission substations at 132kV, 275kV or 400kV.
  • Below-ground earthing systems for process plants, renewable technologies and substations.
  • Offshore oil & gas modifications to existing assets ranging from FPSOs, satellites and platforms.
  • Developing critical electrical infrastructure for water and wastewater sites in difficult-to-reach locations.
  • Simple and complex power system studies using a variety of software tools.
  • Connecting the next generation of wind, solar and battery energy storage systems to the existing UK distribution and transmission network ranging between 1MW to 500MW.

Your expertise and passion for all things electrical engineering will help us go above and beyond for clients, contributing to the continued growth of our consultancy.
