EPS is proud to announce our sponsorship of Solomon Canning, an exceptional young golfer making his mark on the sport. This sponsorship is a part of our commitment to investing in emerging local talent, helping Solomon achieve his aspirations on the professional circuit.
Solomon’s Journey So Far
Solomon’s passion for golf started at Age 4, and over the years he’s trained with some incredible coaches. His dedication to the sport was evident early on when, at 11 years old he won the Junior Masters for The North of England (2018).
Currently, Solomon is captaining the junior team at Eaglescliffe Golf Club while representing both Teesside & District Union Durham County. After focusing on his GCSEs in 2024, the next 12 months will be crucial for him as he starts to apply for scholarships in America – a key step towards his dream of playing at the highest level.
It’s my dream to go to a Division 1 University in the US. I’m really lucky to have found my current coach James Maw from Seaton Carew Golf Club who is helping me to refine my techniques to be in the strongest position possible, especially as competition is so high. Working towards my dream needs dedication and commitment, across coaching, fitness and academic study. Without the amazing support from EPS I wouldn’t be able to give it my best shot and I’m so grateful for my sponsorship.
What Our Sponsorship Involves
EPS’s sponsorship provides Solomon with financial support for training, equipment, and travel, making sure he can fully focus on honing his skills. Our funding allows him to access to high-quality coaching, participate in competitive tournaments, and invest in the right resources to aid his development. With the pressure of both academic and sporting commitments, our support ensures that Solomon can give his best performance on and off the course.
