Life at EPS

At EPS, our people work on technically challenging electrical engineering projects across power, renewables, infrastructure and industrial sectors.

We support clients with practical, safety-led engineering across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage studies and concept design through to detailed design, compliance support and site-based assessment.

Life at EPS is shaped by technical ownership, collaboration and continuous learning. Whether you are starting your engineering career, developing your specialist skills or bringing experience to a senior role, you will be supported to contribute, grow and build confidence in your work.

What You’ll Work On

Our work supports the safe, compliant and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure across the UK and beyond.

That means one project might involve grid compliance studies for a large-scale renewable energy development, while another could focus on electrical design validation, protection coordination, arc flash assessments or power system modelling for critical infrastructure.

Because studies, design and specialist engineering services are delivered in-house, engineers gain visibility across the wider technical picture, not just one isolated task or discipline.

Learning, Development & Progression

Development at EPS is built around real experience.

Graduates and early-career engineers contribute to live projects from the start, supported by experienced colleagues across the business. Whether that’s reviewing technical work together, talking through design decisions or learning directly from project delivery, development happens through involvement, not observation.

Our Graduate Programme combines:

  • Mentoring
  • Regular development check-ins
  • Route to chartership support
  • Technical training
  • Exposure to industry-leading engineering software including ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSCAD

Progression is based on contribution and capability rather than simply time served.

Tom joined EPS as a Graduate Electrical Engineer and progressed to Senior Power Systems Engineer within four years, taking on responsibilities including leading studies, presenting conclusions to clients and mentoring graduate engineers.

We’re Proud of Our Culture

EPS has grown quickly, but we’ve worked hard to keep the business feeling personal.

We work in a way that encourages people to take ownership while knowing they have the support of the wider team around them. Collaboration matters here, not only between engineers but also across wider business support functions.

Alongside the technical side of the business, there’s also a social side – from team lunches and company events to celebrating milestones and recognising achievements across the team.

EPS has grown quickly, but we’ve worked hard to keep the business feeling personal. People are visible here. Good work gets recognised. Questions are encouraged. There’s a strong focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing, whether that’s through project work, mentoring, peer review, or day-to-day conversations across the office. Alongside the technical side of the business, there’s also a social side; from team lunches and company events to celebrating milestones and recognising achievements across the team. Alongside these core benefits, EPS supports employees through:

Our Values

Technical Excellence

We bring proven electrical engineering and power systems expertise to complex projects. Our work is led by experienced engineers, supported by peer review, and underpinned by clear technical accountability.

Independence

We provide impartial engineering advice. Our recommendations are based on what is right for the client, the project and the long-term performance of the system, not on vendor, contractor or product interests.

Safety & Assuarance

We identify risks early and explain what they mean. We help clients make informed decisions that support safe, compliant, reliable and well-assured power systems.

Clarity

We make complex electrical engineering easier to understand. We give clients clear advice, explain our reasoning, and provide practical recommendations that help clients make informed decisions.

Partnership

We work as an extension of our clients’ teams. We stay close, responsive and accountable from early concept through to energisation, supporting practical progress at every stage.

Development

We invest in our people and technical capability. We build knowledge, share experience and create opportunities for growth, so our team and our clients benefit from stronger engineering judgement.
