Manufacturing & Commercial

All of our Chartered engineers have industrial engineering experience. Collectively we bring together Chartered engineers and experienced designers which have many years experience. EPS Chartered engineers are accustomed to the industry standards and practices working to strict EPS quality procedures.

This collaborative approach eliminates the overheads associated with many larger EPC contractors to provide you with an efficient cost effective electrical design solution.

Our highly experienced engineers can provide electrical designs for either a new build project or a bespoke modification to your existing power system. Whether it’s new product line, additional machinery or a stand-by diesel generator for an office block EPS can help you find a solution and provide you with a detailed design for tendering purposes.

In addition to general engineering and design we offer specialist engineering services detailed as follows:

Equipment documentation:

If you’re looking to replace some existing equipment and require a data sheet or specification to purchase new equipment then EPS can help you; typical documentation for projects may include:

  • High and Low Voltage switchboard specification, FAT scope, installation work scope
  • Electrical protection settings schedule
  • UPS system specification, data sheet
  • DC Chargers specification, data sheet
  • Equipment installation specifications
  • Cable routing drawings

Drawing consolidation work:

Many buildings or manufacturing plants over the years have either missing or not kept up to date with their electrical drawings due to refurbishment work or previous engineers misplacing crucial documentation on their electrical system. This means that technicians carrying out maintenance work are not working to up to date drawings. EPS can help you consolidate and revise these drawing to assist your technicians or to assist future projects.

  • Typical documentation may include:
  • Single line drawings
  • Protection settings schedules
  • Distribution board schedules
  • Cable routing drawings

Additional services:

  • Attend weekly / fortnightly / monthly project meetings
  • Electrical surveys
  • Thermal imaging surveys
  • Energy Efficiency calculations
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (national and international)

Typical projects include:

Providing cost effective electrical design solutions for:

  • Conceptual design and project cost estimates
  • New product line supplies from existing switchboard detailed design
  • Office small power and lighting supply designs
  • A new substation / transformer to supply a new product line
  • Lighting design and power supplies for example a new compound / existing switchroom
  • Providing supplies to new 3-phase machinery
  • Decommissioning – removing and rerouting power supplies for decommissioned and remaining operational plant

Installation and supply of:

  • Condition monitoring systems.
  • Arc flash labelling
  • Thermal imaging sight glass

Specialist Consultancy:

Using electrical engineering software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, ERACs, IPSA or DigSILENT our electrical engineers can provide you with a study report for your power system.

Whether it’s a power system study for the entire process plants electrical distribution system or a modification / addition to the electrical system EPS can provide you with the following technical services:

  • Load flow analysis studies
  • Short circuit studies
  • Transient Motor Starting Studies
  • Harmonic analysis
  • Protection co-ordination
  • Arc Flash and switchgear risk assessments
  • Electrical thermal imaging survey reports
  • Independent project cost estimates
